I was sitting in my study when the emergency sirens went off all over town. Around here that usually means that a tornado has been spotted. I got up and walked to the back door where I could see across the valley for several miles. There were three layers of wind-driven clouds streaming past each other in opposite directions and a small tornado beginning to form about two miles away. I was fascinated and mesmerized by the contrary forces of nature at work. I watched as the tornado grew in strength and slowly drifted in my general direction. All of a sudden, I realized that I had accepted the idea that nature could be destructive and that my eyes were confirming that seeming fact. Then, in a moment of inspiration, I heard myself say out loud, 'And divine Love dissolves it.' Within about five seconds the tornado dissolved. The vicious twisting became a cloud puff.
We should not accept appearances that we
do not wish to have realized in our experience.
